Problem statement

Building inspectors require a method to conduct on-site inspections for various residential and commercial construction projects. This ensures compliance with the Building Consent and the NZ Building Code. Guaranteeing a high standard of construction quality in New Zealand.

Key Challenge

On-site inspections are conducted, and in some instances, internet access may be unavailable. Inspectors need to be able to review plans, generate reports, capture photos, and save them even in offline conditions.

The Process

We organised workshops and talked to users to understand their roles and daily tasks. Interviews with stakeholders and building inspectors were conducted to shape how users interact with the system. Testing was done at every stage to ensure the user experience and flow were smooth and effective.

The Design

All the design components were designed in Figma and high-fidelity prototypes were shared with the stakeholders and the users.

The Results

One month following the initial release of Phase 1, the application has received exceptionally positive feedback.
