Problem statement
Council administrators, along with team leaders, booking officers, or customer service teams, need an application to streamline the management of inspectors’ daily workloads. The application should present a transparent overview of their daily tasks, ongoing projects, and travel time between assignments. Furthermore, it should assist in organising upcoming jobs according to their priorities.
Key Challenge
Developing applications capable of handling a user base ranging, from 4 to 20 inspectors. The application should prioritise intuitiveness and user-friendliness, allowing easy navigation with just a few clicks. It should efficiently present all relevant information at once, minimising the need for excessive clicks.
The Process
A series of user interviews were done to understand better the Personas who will be using the system.
Card sorting exercises were done to define the Information Architecture. All the wireframes and the user flow were tested along each process to ensure seamless user flow and good UX.
The Design
All the design components were designed in Figma and high-fidelity prototypes were shared with the stakeholders and the development team.
The Results
The initial design feedback was overwhelmingly positive.
